Maran Designs is 18 years old specializing in Wearable Art fashioned from handcrafted clay beads and mixed media.
"I create all the clay beads in my studio and then create them into necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
My beads are very light in weight although they appear to be heavy. The designs on the beads are created from the way I work the clay, and are not painted on.
What I enjoy most is that every piece is 'one of a kind' because I make the beads in small quantities. Swarovski crystals are always part of my jewelry... love the glisten and life they bring!
My aesthetic is to be natural... no two beads are ever exactly the same due to the hand made process.
In June 2014 I became intrigued with decoupage and so started my line of decoupage bracelets and glass plates. I love mixing the different colors and different prints and papers to achieve vibrant design in each piece. As with my jewelry, I never duplicate a design. Each piece is 'one of a kind."
In exploring different mediums, I have also used alcohol-based inks to make unique framed drawings and, also, incorporated them in my decoupage pieces.
My new creations are eyeglass chains. I enjoy finalizing colors and shapes together. Each one is a play on the other.
